Transforming Lives in Benin
Benin has experienced a 15.1% reduction in forested areas from 1990 to 2020, primarily due to agricultural activities and fuelwood usage. With only 4.6% of the population having access to clean cooking facilities in 2021, urgent action is needed. The mortality rate of 205 out of every 100,000 people in 2016 highlights the serious health consequences of household and ambient air pollution.
